Biography

Master of Arts in Jazz Studies, University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music and Dance


 Bachelors of Music in Music Performance, East Carolina University, Greenville, North Carolina, Magna Cum Laude 


Max Levy performs often throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area, playing an eclectic mix of straight-ahead jazz music at various venues. Max can also be seen playing with other prominent ensembles including Son Venezuela, KC FLO, Patrick Lentz Band, Baby J, Brass Rewind, Mike Pagan Big Band, Hard@Play, Alex Abramovitz and his Swing'n KC Jazz Band, Clayton Delong Duo, and countless others. Max originally hails from southeastern North Carolina where he acquired a Bachelor's in Jazz Performance from East Carolina University under the tutelage of educator and bassist Carroll Dashiell. Max still performs in eastern North Carolina whenever possible. He made his way to Kansas City to go to school at UMKC in the fall of 2016 and has remained ever since. Max has studied and worked with such legendary saxophonists as Bobby Watson, Dan Thomas, Dr. Frank Bongiorno, Benton Hill, and Rob Holmes of the Navy Jazz Commodores.
